So many people speak negatively of the vegan diet, and this is no surprise. They have been led to believe their whole life that eating meat and dairy will help you to grow strong and healthy, and consequently if you do not eat these foods your health will suffer. But oftentimes, it is the health of meat and dairy eaters that is suffering, not the other way around. This leads to the question: Is the vegan diet healthy after all?
In order to answer this question, I have listed below 5 common attributes (whether physical or emotional) of a long-term vegan which I personally have noticed. They all have these 5 healthy traits in common.
1. Skin
A long-term vegan will have amazing, flawless skin. Unlike cheese and dairy eaters, they do not suffer breakouts from eating an over-consumption of hard-to-digest dairy products. Often vegans do not wear make-up, or very little, since their skin is so good and they have no blemishes to hide.
2. Hair
Vegans have healthy, luxurious hair. The nutrients that they are getting from their fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes and whole-grains are clearly doing their body wonders. By feeding their body an abun**** of essential nutrients, it is no surprise that their hair and beauty look so amazing. As the famous saying goes, You are what you eat. Vegans are living proof of this saying.
3. Physique
A person who has maintained the vegan diet for an extended period of time will just about always be slim and lean. This is probably largely due to the fact that they are not eating any high-fat, high-calorie cheeses, creams, butters and meats. With their digestive system at ease, their body has clearly worked on shedding any excess fat (if they were overweight to begin with), and isnt going to put it back on any time soon. When you see a vegan munching on an apple, or a bean and vegetable salad you know why they are so slim!
4. Happiness
It cannot go unnoticed that persons on the vegan diet have a profound zest for life, a passion and yearning to get out of bed and greet the new day with a smile. Hand in hand with their abundant happiness is their amazing energy levels which baffle the average Joe. How can a person be so vibrant, happy and energized? You wonder. The benefits of the vegan diet just keep on getting better and better!
5. Health
Persons who have embraced veganism for an extended period of time have amazing health, and rarely need to visit the doctor. They are not overweight, they do not have high cholesterol, and they do not suffer from high blood pressure. Eating a diet high in living plant-based foods has been said to prevent many cancers, diabetes, as well as a wide range of other chronic illnesses. A longer life-expectancy can also be added to the list. The vegan diet is clearly a healthy one.
